Te Pā is a local Hawke’s Bay business focussing on environmental and cultural restoration.

We are on a mission to reforest as much of Aotearoa, New Zealand as we possibly can. Our ancestors lived off the land and had a pristine environment that we are working to support for the generations to come.

Over the last decade we have gone from teaching children in challenging communities, to mentoring boys and connecting them with ancestral stories, to the research and protection of culturally significant sites and finally to environmental restoration of species and our indigenous biodiversity.

Our team are a hard working whanau (family) keen to figure out how to accomplish any job that gives our taiao (environment) a chance to thrive. We have spent the last few years working between the Kaweka Ranges and the Cape Kidnappers Sanctuary. We have been learning from the experts at the Department of Conservation and Regional Council, through to the landowners and ecological experts that have built the Sanctuary into what we see today. We have had the privilege of working with various iwi and hapu (tribes), settlement trusts and indigenous tohunga (specialists) across Hawkes Bay and beyond, while supporting and growing alongside our community’s volunteer stalwarts.

Te Pā is run by Levi and Tipene who started the business together after travelling around Aotearoa together, learning about our passions, our communities and our environment. We now use all of the experiences we had to create a future our mokopuna (grandchildren) can admire and be proud of.
